Songs for Worship

Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.  Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.

Psalm 33:1-3 (NIV)

This song was written by Bob Hauch to celebrate the 100th anniversary of St. John's Lutheran School in 2007.  "Celebrate" was also the school theme that year.

In the first verse of this song, Bob linked the current theme with the previous year's theme, "Shine."  The most important thing we have to celebrate, beyond anniversaries and institutions, is the light of the world, Jesus Christ, and His goodness to us.   He is always with his people, with his boundless love and grace.

For the recording, the song is sung by Devyn Wallace-Bicknell, who graduated from St. John's Lutheran School in 2008.

Through all generations, throughout all time
Growing together by God's design
