Jesus' words of invitation at the end of
Matthew 11 have been a source of comfort for countless weary burdened
souls. We come to him with our griefs and heartaches, and He gives
us a rest that can only be found in Him.
This is a quiet, flowing song influenced by
the music of John Michael
Talbot. In addition to the keywords listed about, it would be
appropriate as a communion song, and also in times of loss, such as
memorials and funerals.
1st Chorus
Come unto me, all you weary
I will give you rest
Come unto me, take my yoke on your shoulders
I will give you rest.
For I am gentle, humble in heart
And you will find rest for your souls.
Come unto me, all you weary
I will give you rest.
Verse 1
O Lord, I'm weary from all this weight upon me.
From sin and sorrow, from doubt and despair set me free.
For you take away the weight of this world from me.
2nd Chorus
I come unto you, O Lord, I am weary
You will give me rest
I come unto you, Put your yoke on my shoulders
You will give me rest
For you are gentle, humble in heart
And you will give rest for my soul
I come unto you, O Lord, I am weary
You will give me rest.
Verse 2
O Lord I hear you, your voice is calling to me.
I learn from you to trust, to hope, to believe
That your yoke is easy; your burden is light upon me.
