Songs for Worship

Welcome to True Vine Music! Our mission is to provide Christ-centered, Biblically-grounded, contemporary worship songs for the church. We provide original congregational worship songs on many themes including Baptism, the Lord's Supper, and the Liturgy. Come, let us worship the Lord!

Michael A. Schmid

Who am I?

I'm known as Pastor Mike at St. John's Lutheran in Napa, California, where I have served since January 1998. I was called originally as an associate pastor, and then called again as Lead Pastor in 2000.  Before coming to Napa, I served as pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Manchester, IA from 1990 to 1997.  I attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana where I receive an M.Div. in 1990.

I thank my Lord for the talents he has given me in piano, keyboard. I am also thankful for the privilege of being able to create new songs for the church's use. My songs are reflective of my faith, and frequently arise from my personal experiences of God's working in my life. Most often I start with a biblical passage and the idea of a tune, and then it begins to flow from there.

I brought together a worship band at St. John's in 1998.  It is a blessing to serve a congregation that has been blessed with talented and dedicated musicians who want to serve the Lord and His people with their talents.

What Else Am I Up To?

I am also currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree in Missional Leadership from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO.  I also serve as one of the associate editors of the blogsite Worship Concord.

You can also access some of my music on my Sibelius web site, and my page at Sharesong.

But my main gig continues to be service as husband to Teresa, my wife, and father to my daughters, Erika, Heidi, and Danika.
