Songs for Worship

Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.  Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.

Psalm 33:1-3 (NIV)

Welcome Without End

Background

Jesus welcomes all, including little children.  At the birth of an infant, the child is welcomed to a family, a home, and a world.  And in the new birth of baptism, we are also welcomed to the family of God, the church, the Kingdom of God.  The love, mercy and peace that embodied in this welcome are forever. It is truly a welcome that will never end.

I wrote this song for the baptism of my grandson Orion.

Lyrics

Chorus
Welcome to your world
Welcome to your home
Welcome to a family to call your own
Welcome to a love for you
A love that will never end
Welcome to the mercy
Welcome to the peace
Welcome to the life that will never cease
Welcome to the Kingdom Come in the Father, Spirit, Son

Verse 1
And to the little lambs
The Shepherd calls “come unto me
That I may claim you as my own,
To feed in pastures green along the quiet waters.
On paths of right I’ll be your light
Until I lead you home.”

Verse 2
May God who has begun
A blessed and holy work in you
Uphold you till His work is through.
May every day be filled with joy and kindness
With all the love from heav’n above
Shining down on you

Bridge
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Amen!
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
This is the welcome without end!
