We do not on our own possess the strength to live the life that God has called us to live. We can make ourselves become more Christ-like no more than a mouse can make itself a lion. But the power of God within us transforms us. The name of Jesus has been placed upon us who believe and are baptized, and by the power of that name we are being transformed into Christ-likeness.

This song was written for St. John’s Lutheran School in Napa, California as the school’s theme song for the 2000-2001 school year. It was used in chapel services throughout the year to reinforce the theme for the children.

This song is sung by Joshua Tinney, former director of youth ministries at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
