Hear My Prayer

Background

I wrote this song in the weeks following the attacks on September 11, 2001.  This is a prayer from those days of grief, shock, anger and fear.  It is a cry to God for answers, as well as a prayer for strength and hope for the living on such days.

Ultimately for the Christian, we find our hope in the truth that the One who holds all of our futures does so in nail-scarred hands.  Despite all of the tragic losses of life, we live in the hope of the redemption of all things and the complete restoration promised by the empty tomb.

Although written in the aftermath of the 911 attacks, this song is intended to be general enough to be sung and prayed during other times of tragic loss and grief.
