The Venite (Oh Come) is an ancient hymn of the church based on Psalm 95. This song of invitation to worship and praise is associated with the Matins or Morning Prayer liturgy, going back to monastic times. Using the words Psalm 95, the church is invited to come into the presence of God to worship Him. God the creator is our God who holds us in the palm of His hand as his people. For this setting, I used the call to worship – “Oh come let us worship” as a repeated chorus.
