This song is a prayer that God make peacemakers of His children.  Too often the church and the faith community is filled with discord and petty selfishness.  This is entirely out of place for the people who call themselves by Christ's name.  We are to be peacemakers, even as our Savior has made peace with us on the cross.

This song is the theme song for St. John's Lutheran School for the year 2004-2005.  The school's theme is "Blessed are the peacemakers" as part of an emphasis on peacemaking.  (For information, see Peacemakers.)
