All Who Believe And Are Baptized

Background

This song celebrates the grace of God in baptism, taking its first line from Mark 16:16, “Whoever believes and is baptized shall be saved.” Baptism connects us with Christ’s saving work.  We are baptized into the new life in Christ which points us to the resurrection.

You could call this a re-manufactured hymn.  The text was written by Thomas Kingo (1634-1703) and translated by George A.T. Rygh (1860-1943) and has been paired with the tune “Es is das Heil.”  I have given the hymn a new setting.  In addition to adding an “alleluia” at the end of each stanza, I have also added chorus, an offering of worship to God for the gift of new life in baptism.
